Neodymium doped potassium gadolinium tungstate crystal (Nd: KGD (WO4) 2 or Nd: KGW) is an excellent laser gain material with low laser oscillation threshold and high emission cross section. The fluorescence concentration quenching effect of Nd3 + ions in KGW crystal may be weakened by W-O covalent bond, so the crystal has a high doping concentration of active ions. In addition, the absorption band of Nd3 + at 808 nm in KGW with 12 nm half height and width matches well with the emission wavelength of current commercial laser diodes.
